DENVER — Colorado’s housing foreclosures are nearing a record, driving down prices and damaging neighborhoods and one reason is mortgage fraud.

A hit-and-run death has led 7NEWS investigator John Ferrugia on a trail to what may be a ring involved in setting up illegal immigrants with fraudulent mortgages.

Daniel Martinez-Ruiz is an illegal immigrant charged this month with using phony documents to purchase property. His wife Conception Hernandez is charged with similar crimes and is out on bail.

32 Busted In N Ky Immigration Raid

32 people have been arrested in Northern Kentucky on suspicion of being undocumented immigrants.

Federal agents say the 32 worked in the commercial drywall business.

Some were arrested here in parking lots adjacent to the Ascent at Roebling project.

Some were arrested in a parking lot at the Home Depot in Florence.

6 immigration arrests at Atlanta airport

ATLANTA — Federal authorities said Wednesday they arrested six illegal immigrants who had security badges that gave them access to the tarmac and other restricted areas at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested the men, all Mexicans employed by T.C. Drywall Inc., as they reported to work at the airport Wednesday, agency spokesman Marc Raimondi said.
